Easter: Arts And Crafts

Thursday, April 21st, 2011

Paper BirdiesHave fun this Easter creating an egg treasure hunt with the kids or making arts and crafts outside in the glorious sunshine.

It is the perfect weather to get outdoors and sit in the garden basking in the sunlight; so get the little monsters out of the dark home and into the fresh surroundings. They can be amused for hours colouring, painting, making and sticking crafts for the home and Ulster Weavers have some fab ideas to theme the arts with the Easter holiday.

Make cute bunny bags with long furry ears, create paper birdies to decorate the trees or simply make a long paper chain to hang up in the living room that is brightly coloured and great for special occasions.

It isn’t just the kids that can be involved though. With adult Aprons you too can have fun by decorating the dining table with egg napkins or table runners; making bird brooches to wear on your clothing; or for a quirky Good Friday party why not invite everyone to make their very own Easter themed mask.

What’s more; if you are giving someone a gift this Easter, why not make the little box to put it in as a special treat; or wow your friend’s with an Easter Bunny Garland. Further party ideas include egg shaped cookies, chick and bunny bonnets, or a fun past time of painting polystyrene eggs.

Whatever you do this Easter, have fun and make sure you keep your clothes clean and dry with the help from Ulster Weavers and our cute PVC Aprons.

Easter: Giftware

Monday, April 18th, 2011

It is traditional for parents and family members to buy each other chocolate eggs for Easter. Different sizes, styles and types of eggs can be bought to suit all ages and gender; whether it is pink princess ones for girls, action packed toys story ones for boys, or plain chocolate eggs for adults.

And on many boxes there can also be quizzes and games that can be cut-out to keep the little ones amused for hours after.

But why don’t you do something new this Easter and treat your loved-one to a gift rather than chocolate confectionery?

Some people may prefer to be given a present for the home because they either don’t like chocolate or are on a diet. This is when an Ulster Weavers product is a fantastic idea, as you can still show that special person you care but purchase them something that they will actually enjoy.

Ulster Weavers gift sets are a brilliant present for any house, especially ones that are themed for the season. Our Chicken Cosy Gift Set is lovely and comes with a shaped tea cosy, egg cosy and matching Teatowel; perfect!

Or why not really get into the holiday and purchase the super cute Bunny Shaped Egg Cosies; they’ll be no excuse for rabbiting around this Easter!

Our newly arrived Chicken Door Stops are a fabulous idea and will really come in handy this summer when the doors are left open to make the house airy and cool.

Easter Recipes

It is almost Easter time which means one thing; chocolate!

It isn’t just chocolate though; many are not aware but it is traditional to eat hot cross buns on Good Friday. They are part of Christian superstition which means that by sharing one of the sticky fruity treats it cements friendships; any excuse to put on your Aprons and bake a batch!

If hot cross buns aren’t your cup of tea try baking chocolate Easter cakes or, biscuits and brownies for a super fun weekend that will get the entire family involved!

Go all out this Easter with chocolate meringues for desserts but for the main course you may want to avoid chocolate. Instead try cooking roast shoulder of lamb with herbs and honey; or have a traditional show stopping meal of roast pork and vegetables.

For people who prefer fish, a lovely sea bass roasted in rosemary and lemon would make a perfect dish for the holiday; and vegetarians can enjoy Easter with a scrumptious griddled artichoke and red onion paella. The zingy menu will definitely bring a citrus blast of fresh air to anyone who’s overdone it with the chocolate!

So get all the kids involved stirring and decorating this Easter; they’ll love sticking their fingers into the chocolate mix and with our fantastic Childrens Aprons you don’t need to fret about any mess.
